Tierra (1996)
A naked young woman with long brown hair sits in a bathtub, leaning slightly forward as she holds a phone and takes pictures of herself. The lighting is dim but clear enough to see her slim body and the steam rising around her. The camera stays tight on her in close-up, focused on her face and upper torso as she adjusts her position. Outside, a group of four young white guys stand together in daylight somewhere in a desert, all wearing casual clothes and looking off-screen. Earlier, two middle-aged white men are seen near a truck with a golf bag, also in the desert. Later, a large group of older people in formal attire stand at what looks like a wedding or party, posed in front of flowers and tables. The whole thing feels like raw, unedited clips spliced together — the contrast between the intimate bathroom moment and the distant outdoor shots makes it weirdly compelling.
