Giwaku no shinsatsu-shitsu: Watashi o okashita biyô seikeigeka-i (1998)
A young East Asian woman in her 20s is lying down on a hospital bed, eyes shut, face relaxed, dark short hair slightly spread on the pillow. She’s covered with a blanket up to her chest, dim light giving it a quiet, almost intimate vibe. In another room, two East Asian men in their 30s sit across from each other in a low-lit office, surrounded by books and a lamp, deep in conversation. Later, four people — three women and one man, all East Asian, 20s — stand and sit in a bright hospital room, near medical gear, one of them gesturing while talking. The camera stays wide and static in most shots, capturing natural movement without staging. One of the men is seen alone later, smoking at his desk, staring off, sunlight hitting his face from the side, ash building on his cigarette.
