Diao nu (1978)

Starts with an Asian guy in a fur-lined hat looking surprised in a snowy forest. Then cuts to a rustic kitchen where a 50s white dude with gray hair and a younger Asian guy in aprons are handling a big piece of meat or hide. No sex, just them talking and working with knives. Later, the Asian guy is in a traditional room talking to someone off-camera. Outside, a 50s white guy and a 40s blonde woman in rugged clothes carry a log through the woods. Ends with a group of people in a dim room eating and chatting. Camera work is solid—close-ups on the meat and knives, wide shots of the forest. If you’re into raw, non-sexual butcher or survival vibes, this has a cool aesthetic.
