La vouivre (1989)

Starts with this white dude in a flat cap just standing outside some old stone farmhouse, looking all serious. Then cuts to him in a dark barn, slicked-back hair, stubble, chains hanging everywhere — he’s gripping something off-camera, veins in his arms popping, face all twisted like he’s about to snap. Next scene, he’s with a slim brunette girl in what looks like a prison-cell bedroom, her long dark hair loose, him looking wrecked, eyes red like he’s been crying or yelling. Outside, there’s this blonde in a straw hat by the water, just staring into the distance, dress blowing in the wind — no idea what she’s waiting for, but it feels heavy. Last shot is him alone in a dim kitchen, hands shaking, tears running down his face while he leans on the counter. No sex, just raw tension and emotion — camera work’s solid, close-ups catch every twitch in his jaw and every drop of sweat.
