Pedro Páramo (1977)

This one’s all about the vibe. You got a group of older dudes—think 50s, 60s, gray hair, mustaches, dressed like they stepped out of a 19th-century study—just standing around talking. No action yet, but the lighting’s killer, all candlelit and shadowy, like something out of a noir film. Then there’s this younger Latina with long dark hair, sitting across from one of the older guys, listening like she’s either negotiating or getting seduced. The way they frame it, you can feel the tension—no one’s touching, but you know something’s about to pop. The camera lingers on their faces, especially the older guys with their beards and intense stares, like they’re plotting something. If you’re into slow burns with a vintage aesthetic, this has the right energy. No hardcore yet, but the build-up’s solid.
